… disappointed me. What was with that weird imagery of the girls doing some illegal live or some shit when they started singing? God damn KyoAni. Just show them singing in the hall!

Anyways, next week has loli Yui and Ui. God damn that was like the best part of the whole episode for me. Even Mio is getting a bit on my nerves now that KyoAni is overplaying her “shyness” factor to the absolute limit. It’s almost becoming irritating.

    … pretty entertaining!

Actually I downloaded this over a month ago but I really didn’t get down to watching it till now, so that explains the really late “first impression” post here.

I had no idea that Orikasa Fumiko was in this show, but she’s really the reason why I am watching this. I just love her when she uses her “otome” voice, iykwim. Kinda lol’ed at her jumping on Claudio in the 2nd episode though. Her mom is quite likable too.

And surprisingly, I can really accept the FABULOUS-ness of the show much better, partially because it isn’t done in the over-the-top-with-sparklies-and-rainbows kinda way and it IS very gentlemanly (i.e. subtle).

Guess I’ll catch up with the show. Gonna grab 3 and 4 now.

  • Double shot of Hinagiku and Maria please!
By Admin on May 12th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

Oh god, they’ve finally animated the legendary chapters of volume 8. Hayate staying over at Hinagiku’s house! Maria in seifuku and megane!

    Hayate no Gotoku!

I think a significant amount of fans wished for a “what-if” situation where the scene above is in chapter 1 instead. Imagine the outcome……………..

    Hayate no Gotoku!

    Hayate no Gotoku!

    You (un)lucky sonnavabitch!!!

    Hayate no Gotoku!

    Hayate no Gotoku!

    Hayate no Gotoku!

They made Hinagiku’s mom much younger than the manga. But she is no less awesome as she is in the manga. I would’ve loved to see Hayate in Hinagiku’s frilly dress.

    Hayate no Gotoku!

Again, I shall say it… “You (un)lucky sonnavabitch!!!”

Of course, Hinagiku’s not the only awesome in this episode…

    Hayate no Gotoku!

    Hayate no Gotoku!

Oh god seifuku Maria (manga version here)

    Hayate no Gotoku!

And to ensure critical and immediate death, with megane addon! (manga version here)

    Hayate no Gotoku!

Oh I can’t wait for the “elevator action” next week. Also, Shiranui’s appearance. I do hope the plant gets some screentime, iykwim.

  • Spice and Wolf II OVA

    Spicy Wolf

Oh god, this episode reminds me of how much I missed the series. And it’s chockful of what it does best, the tsun-tsun-dere-dere relationship building between Horo and Lawrence and Horo being, well, Horo.

The last part between Horo and Nola was pretty damn awesome too, even though I’m uncertain I got it right. But anyways I can’t wait for the second season to start soon.

  • Windows 7 RC
By Admin on May 12th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

Because my Mondays until Thursdays are so god damn boring lately thanks to the lack of good blogging topics (in other words, shows), I went ahead and installed Windows 7 RC 64-bit, which was just released by Microsoft.

First things first, this time it was even more painless than the two betas I tried out before this, 6801 and 6956. Install took less time (comparatively speaking) than the two betas and Win 7 automatically installed all the appropriate drivers for all my hardware. I literally could run my PC out-of-the-box. I’m really impressed with Microsoft’s improvements on Windows Update for Windows 7, particularly in providing a reliable and trusted repository of drivers for just about any kind of common hardware.

Feature-wise, I’m liking the new taskbar even more now that it’s nearly feature-complete and refined over months of feedback from beta testers. Hell, Win 7’s development is probably the most “open” ever so far and I’m glad that Microsoft has really learned from the PR disasters of Vista. I’m still fiddling with the look of my task bar, but I’m definitely not giving up my Quick Launch despite the “pin” system. But I do wish MS would recode Windows Live Messenger to have an option to reside in the notification panel rather than taking up a slot at the taskbar permanently.

Stability-wise, it’s pretty rock solid and so far I haven’t been experiencing any trouble yet. It’s good that MS has made WoW64 a real painless process and I had no problems with my old 32-bit apps at all. Also glad that I’m finally able to utilize all 4GB of my RAM now… though strictly speaking it never gets used over 2.5GB so far, ahahaha.

Still having a little bit of problems with foobar 0.9.6.5 reading SJIS tags though, have to reencode them all to UTF-8. Japanese input ?????????????????? fortunately.???????MS!.

Gotta say, Windows 7 is working up to be quite a decent release from Microsoft. I love all the little user-friendly tweaks all round (you notice them, really) like the Troubleshooter and better help files too. In fact, I think I might be getting a copy too if nothing major pops up further down the road.

  • Juiz in Eden of the East
By Admin on May 12th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

She sounds so sexy/flirtatious in episode 4. I know that it’s possible to fall in love with someone’s voice… but man, we’ve not even seen Juiz yet!

I do hope she is as pretty/sexy/cool in person as she sounds. And yes, Eden of the East is now on top of my Must-Watch list of this season after this 4 solid episodes coming from it.

EDIT: Fuck, no wonder. Juiz are the Tachikomas! Oh shit is this sum foreshadowing?

    K-ON!

    K-ON!

    K-ON!

    K-ON!

Oh man, she was pretty fucking epic in the manga already and KyoAni has to up the ante even higher. The whole “destroying evidence” and flashback to the past thing was extremely hilarious. As if the teeth guitar wasn’t enough, ahahahaha.

    K-ON!

Plus, she makes a fine bokke pair with Yui too, ROFL.

    K-ON!

Mugi’s yuri delusions are being put out full front so early already. It is kinda scary to see her in that ‘mode’ though.

    K-ON!

And finally, prerequisite Mio shot of the episode. Headphones are fine too!
